Minutes of February 2nd, 2009

1. Meeting called to order at 6:35PM by President, Ruth Stewart.

2. Program featured Susan Zinn on her work for children’s Medicaid benefits that went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.

3. Secretary’s minutes approved as written.

4. Treasurer out of town; no report this month.

5. Barbara Moschner reported on Naturalization project and announced 14,029 brochures distributed to new citizens to date.

6. Committee Reports:

a. Program (Erma Clack): hope to have Patti Radle speak at the March meeting.

b. Linda Allen: discussed website, TDW convention at end of February, and the BCDW newsletter submission at the convention, and the next BCDW newsletter would be mid-March.

7. Elections chair (Madeliene Dewar) reported on the elections committee: offices open are 1^st Vice President, Treasurer, and Elections Chair.

8. New Business: Ruth recommended that we consider fundraising ideas.
