Dear TDW Members,
It’s hard to believe that summer is almost over, but important policy issues are still heating up, and local fall activities are already underway for both the Brazos County Democratic Party and Texas Democratic Women. Here are several events that you don’t want to miss, as well as ways you can volunteer where we really need you. They are listed below in chronological order:
Tuesday, September 8th
If you’re better at tying bows than I am, please meet me at Democratic Headquarters this coming Tuesday morning around 10:00 a.m. to finish up the gift bags that we hand out to newly naturalized citizens.
Thursday, September 10th
Volunteer to greet new citizens at Naturalization Ceremonies. Meet at Democratic Headquarters at 9:30 a.m. this coming Thursday morning. Email Maggie Charleton brazosdems@verizon.net to let her know if you plan to be there.
Sunday, September 20 – Need You There
Fiestas Patrias will take place all afternoon, beginning at noon, in downtown Bryan. The Brazos County Democrats have a brand new shelter which looks like a Texas Flag and TDW will share that space to register new voters and sell TDW T-shirts. PLEASE volunteer for one of the following time slots:
11:00 to 1:00 -- Set up shelter and register voters
1:00 to 2:30
2:30 to 3:30
3:30 to 4:30 -- Help take down shelter
Sunday, October 4
Jefferson-Jackson Reception and Banquet featuring Jim Hightower
Reception begins at 4:00 p.m. – Ticket required
Banquet begins at 5:30 p.m. – Reservation required

Saturday, November 7 – TDW Fall Meeting and Election of New Officers
11:30 to 1:30 – A special treat will be IRMA CAULEY, Brazos County Commissioner Precinct 4, who has agreed to be our featured speaker!!
We will meet at C&J Barbeque on Texas Avenue in Bryan
Please plan to attend to vote in & welcome our newest board members.
