TDW 2011 State Convention February 25-26 at the Wyndham Garden Hotel, 3401 South IH-35, Austin, TX

Join your fellow TDW members at the TDW State Convention February 25th - 26th at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Austin.  If making reservations online, be sure to use Group Code 02236702TE to get the TDW discount.

The primary goal of the weekend is our yearly business meeting and chapter workshops. There will also be time to meet your fellow TDW members at events such as "Esther's Follies", the Stars Luncheon, and the Gala & Awards Dinner. "Esther's Follies" (www.esthersfollies.com) is a convention tradition and is located in Austin's entertainment district at 525 E 6th St. You will need to arrange transportation there. Telephone numbers for local taxi companies will be at the Registration and Check-In desk.

We have two "Early Bird" specials that you must register for by Feb 15th:

2. Registration + Star Awards Luncheon + Gala & Awards Dinner for $90.

Both specials save you $20 over paying for everything separately.

1. Registration. Regular Registration is $45 ($35 if by Feb 15) and includes convention packet, materials, hospitality room, business meeting, workshops and silent auction. Registration for women under age 22 is $35 ($25 if by Feb 15).
2. Esther's Follies: Many TDW members will attend "Esther's Follies" at 8PM Friday night, Feb 25. The hilarious comedy revue at "Esther's" has become a convention tradition and is not to be missed. Tickets to "Esther's Follies" are $20 each. If you choose to order your tickets directly from Esther's at http://www.esthersfollies.com/tickets.html, please be sure to tell them you are with TDW so you can be seated with the group. Students, seniors, and military can get their tickets for $18 if they order directly from Esther's.
3. Star Awards Luncheon. The Star Awards Luncheon is at noon Saturday, Feb 26. Chapters and their "Stars" are recognized at this luncheon. Cost is $25. See our website at www.tdw.org for nomination forms and rules.
4. Gala & Awards Dinner. The Gala & Awards Dinner is at 7PM Saturday, Feb 26, following a cocktail reception at 6PM. The recipients of the following awards will be recognized here: Oscar Mauzy Humanitarian Award, Dr. Mae Jackson Outstanding Democratic Woman Office Holder, and Outstanding Member of the Year. Our Gala & Awards Dinner is our major fund raiser. In 2008 we were able to donate almost $40,000 to strong women candidates for Texas offices. In 2010 we donated $61,000. We're an all volunteer organization, so overhead is extremely small -- allowing the bulk of dues and fund raiser proceeds to go directly to TDW PAC. To that end, please consider becoming a convention sponsor:

• SPONSOR $1000 - Includes: reserved table for 10 at dinner, 10 reception tickets, signage on the wall of honor, recognition at dinner, and TDW Finance Council Membership.
• PATRON $500 - Includes: reserved seating for 5 at dinner, 5 reception tickets, signage on the wall of honor, and recognition at dinner.
• FRIEND $250 - Includes: reserved seating for 2 at dinner, 2 reception tickets, and recognition at dinner.

Please pay special attention to the deadlines for registration and making hotel reservations. Hotel reservations need to be made by February 6th. See our website at www.tdw.org for details.
